The Gospel of Thomas (also known as the Coptic Gospel of Thomas) is extra to the canonical gospels in the New Testament of the bible. It was discovered near Nag Hammadi, Egypt, in December 1945 among a group of books known as the Nag Hammadi library. Scholars speculate that the works were buried and hidden after the declaration of a strict canon of Christian scripture, where any works that were not selected for inclusion in the new testament were ordered to be destroyed. Scholars have proposed dates of composition as early as 60 AD and as late as 250 AD as a collection of sayings of Jesus.

Our Commentary on Verse 067 of Thomas Gospel.

These are the secret sayings which the living Jesus spoke and which Didymos Judas Thomas wrote down.

Gospel of Thomas Saying 67 - A certain deficiency is utter deficiency.
Jesus said, "If one who knows the all still feels a personal deficiency, he is completely deficient."

Jesus said, "If one who knows the all still feels a personal deficiency, he is completely deficient."
It has been said by other sages that to know the one thing is to know all things.
Jesus is saying the same in this case, if someone seems to know all things but doesn’t know themselves “feels a personal deficiency” then they cannot properly know anything. “completely deficient."

Jesus is speaking through the realisation of non-duality. One might know everything in the universe. But, there is nothing that is real in the material realm. This universe and all it contains is even now obeying the knowledge of decay and entropy. That is because this universe in its entirety is a projection, in consciousness of the Absolute. That is, the universe is created and supported through Absolute knowledge forming absolute consciousness. Which is the divine singularity of Absolute existence, or God.

There is nothing here that is real. Nothing exists separately due to its own merit. All can disappear in consciousness.
The 'All' is an Absolute. All that exists is this singularity of consciousness. Or God.

Only the person that is under the delusion of duality, the person that feels separate from the unity of this immortal divine existence could feel “a personal deficiency”.

Those who realise and know the ‘one thing’, which is that this existence itself is a singularity, then those realised ones know all the above. They are truly the ones “who knows the all” .
