The Gospel of Thomas (also known as the Coptic Gospel of Thomas) is extra to the canonical gospels in the New Testament of the bible. It was discovered near Nag Hammadi, Egypt, in December 1945 among a group of books known as the Nag Hammadi library. Scholars speculate that the works were buried and hidden after the declaration of a strict canon of Christian scripture, where any works that were not selected for inclusion in the new testament were ordered to be destroyed. Scholars have proposed dates of composition as early as 60 AD and as late as 250 AD as a collection of sayings of Jesus.

Our Commentary on Verse 096 of Thomas Gospel.

These are the secret sayings which the living Jesus spoke and which Didymos Judas Thomas wrote down.

Gospel of Thomas Saying 096 - parable of a woman baking bread.
Jesus said, "The kingdom of the father is like a certain woman. She took a little leaven, concealed it in some dough, and made it into large loaves. Let him who has ears hear."

Jesus said, "The kingdom of the father is like a certain woman.”
Jesus, probably in answer to a question, is likening the Kingdom of the father to a certain woman making bread.
This is a certain woman because this bread represents the product of knowledge.

“She took a little leaven, concealed it in some dough, and made it into large loaves.”
The leaven from the certain woman contains the knowledge that produces the large loaves.
Cut a large loaf open and inside will be the knowledge of the leaven that enabled the large loaf to be.

The kingdom of the father is the Absolute knowledge that forms of all existence.
Cut open any form of existence and inside will be the knowledge of the father that sustains it.
Absolute knowledge supports all that exists.

“Let him who has ears hear."
One needs to allow the words to enter. Then one needs to allow contemplation, then one needs to cognise the truth, then one needs to live that truth.

ref. Luke 13:20-21, Matt 13:35.
