The Gospel of Thomas (also known as the Coptic Gospel of Thomas) is extra to the canonical gospels in the New Testament of the bible. It was discovered near Nag Hammadi, Egypt, in December 1945 among a group of books known as the Nag Hammadi library. Scholars speculate that the works were buried and hidden after the declaration of a strict canon of Christian scripture, where any works that were not selected for inclusion in the new testament were ordered to be destroyed. Scholars have proposed dates of composition as early as 60 AD and as late as 250 AD as a collection of sayings of Jesus.

Our Commentary on Verse 077 of Thomas Gospel.

These are the secret sayings which the living Jesus spoke and which Didymos Judas Thomas wrote down.

Gospel of Thomas saying 77 - Jesus is the entirety and is everywhere.
Jesus said, "It is I who am the light which is above them all. It is I who am the all. From me did the all come forth, and unto me did the all extend. Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift up the stone, and you will find me there."

“Jesus said, "It is I who am the light which is above them all. It is I who am the all.”
When Jesus spoke of “I”, he spoke of the unity of this existence. This existence itself is nondual.
Jesus and all of Gods children are in fact of the one eternal consciousness and knowledge.

“It is I who am the light which is above them all”
It is divine knowledge which lights and supports the projection of all existence.

“It is I who am the all”
That singularity of divine knowledge as consciousness supports the appearance of separateness and duality.

“ From me did the all come forth, and unto me did the all extend.
“I”, (or me) the singularity of existence is Absolute knowledge (meaning all possible knowledge for all time) and Absolute knowledge forms Absolute Consciousness (meaning consciousness of all things for all time).
And, “the all” extends only so far as Absolute knowledge and consciousness extends.

“Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift up the stone, and you will find me there."
It is a fact of non-duality that nothing in this material universe has true existence. Only the Divine Absolute alone truly exists. All else is projected and supported within the light of Absolute Knowledge and Divine Consciousness ( “unto me did the all extend” )
When Jesus explains ‘split a piece of wood etc and you will find me there’, the meaning is that the apparent existence of wood, stone or even planets etc is merely a projection of Divine Knowledge and Consciousness or “I” or the Absolute or God, who alone truly exists.
