The Gospel of Thomas (also known as the Coptic Gospel of Thomas) is extra to the canonical gospels in the New Testament of the bible. It was discovered near Nag Hammadi, Egypt, in December 1945 among a group of books known as the Nag Hammadi library. Scholars speculate that the works were buried and hidden after the declaration of a strict canon of Christian scripture, where any works that were not selected for inclusion in the new testament were ordered to be destroyed. Scholars have proposed dates of composition as early as 60 AD and as late as 250 AD as a collection of sayings of Jesus.

Our Commentary on Verse 069 of Thomas Gospel.

These are the secret sayings which the living Jesus spoke and which Didymos Judas Thomas wrote down.

Gospel of Thomas Saying 69 - The internally persecuted are blessed.
Jesus said, "Blessed are they who have been persecuted within themselves. It is they who have truly come to know the father. Blessed are the hungry, for the belly of him who desires will be filled."

Jesus said, "Blessed are they who have been persecuted within themselves. It is they who have truly come to know the father".
The inner journey to Non-Dual enlightenment is the final hurdle. As the truth of the timelessness Singularity of existence arises intuitively in the heart, our long held beliefs come into question. This feel like losing our religion, even though it is being altered by a higher truth. Nonetheless there can arise feelings of profound loss and uncertainty. So profound in fact many turn back from searching for higher truth. Established beliefs do provide comfort and community along with the feeling of righteousness.
But, some brave souls, it has been noted, suffer the inner persecution and risk to their peace of mind, for the sake of higher truth. It is these ones who eventually step into the bliss and clarity of the true nature of existence.

The realisation of the singularity of absolute knowledge, as absolute consciousness in eternal bliss is self confirming and unshakable.
They “have truly come to know the father”. The singularity of existence. They will be changed forever.

“Blessed are the hungry, for the belly of him who desires will be filled."
Those who achieve the realisation of non-duality are the ones who have hungered for higher truth.
The blessing for their devotion is seeing the light of higher truth .
